We are pleased to announce that the nomination process is open for the 2022 Kansas Bandmasters Middle Level Honor Band! Our event will take place on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Wichita. Our clinician for this year is Steve Graves from Cypress, California! Mr. Graves is a highly sought after honor ensemble clinician and an outstanding music educator. We are excited for him to work with our Kansas students. If you have students that you would like to nominate for the KBA Middle Level Honor Band, please check out the following information!
As our world finds a new normal moving past the Covid-19 pandemic, we are planning for a safe in-person event. Our team has opted for a slightly reduced ensemble size; including up to 75 wind players and roughly 5 percussionists. There is a participation fee of $40 for each student. These fees help with purchasing music, bringing in our guest clinician, feeding the students of the honor band, and renting the space used at the event site. Invoices are generated after the final roster has been posted. You may nominate students by logging on at https://members.kansasbandmasters.com/. Select “ML Band” from the top menu bar and follow the prompts provided.
This honor band experience is a one day event hosted for any 6-8th grade band students from the 2021-2022 school year. Nominating directors must be a current member of the Kansas Bandmasters Association. There is no limit to the amount of nominations a director can submit.
Nominations for this honor event are due no later than midnight, April 30, 2022. For more information, check out the KBA Middle Level Honor Band webpage at: https://kansasbandmasters.com/events/middle-level-honor-band/.
